Senior Cost Analyst

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Cost Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for building on our past and readying us for the future.

As a Senior Cost Analyst, you will partner with our customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. You will bridge two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals, and resources needed now.

  • Liaise with corporate and client accounting groups to establish a project cost control and reporting methodology.
  • Develop procedures for estimating modifications and additions to facilities.
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of estimates in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Receive engineering estimates from lead/project engineers and incorporate them into overall estimates.
  • Prepare rationale statements to support estimates, identifying areas of weakness and risk.
  • Validate and verify estimates using high-level norms and comparing them with previous estimates, outcome costs, and vendor prices.
  • Develop, implement, and control project accounting and job costing systems to meet project requirements.
  • Take ownership of the cost control function and ensure data integrity.
  • Interface with project personnel to develop project forecasts and analyze project costs.
  • Liaise with clients to clarify cost-related issues and develop timely invoices.
  • Prepare project invoices in conjunction with the Accounts Department.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for projects.
  • Implement financial controls, including expenditure authorizations and cash flow projections.
  • Prepare budgets in conjunction with engineering and construction team members.
  • E nsure effective coordination and cooperation between team members regarding cost, planning, and procurement matters.
  • Prepare and control Inter Entity Work Orders.
  • Effective Change Management.
  • Quality Assurance – Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system.
  • Safety – Personal safety, safe working practices, OH&S procedures.
