Job Description:

The Master role is a leadership position that oversees the safety and security of the crew, vessel, and environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and maintaining the safety management system, reporting deficiencies to shore-based management, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Maintaining valid statutory certification and fostering a culture of familiarity with the safety management system among the crew are essential duties.

The Master will serve as tug manager, coordinating crew attendance for operations, provision of stores, and readiness for operations.

The role also involves managing tug crew discipline, addressing issues as needed, and escalating to management when necessary.

Additionally, the Master will provide supervision and assistance with tug maintenance, prepare operational reports, participate in safety training, and conduct induction training for visitors and other authorized personnel.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relevant OH&S, environment, and security regulations associated with tug operations and reporting.

A minimum of 24 months of sea time as a Master is required, along with specific certifications such as STCW A-VI/1, STCW Code A-VI/4-2, and Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties A-VI/6.
