Job Summary

  • This role involves providing financial support and guidance to the organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning: Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial statements and consolidation reports.
  • Budgeting: Assist in preparing the budget for the parent company and its subsidiaries.
  • Reporting: Prepare management information system (MIS) reports and variance analysis.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash flows, make cash flow forecasts, and ensure adequate levels.
  • Accounting: Authorize journal entries, maintain general ledger controls, and reconcile them on a timely basis.
  • Reconciliation: Reconcile debtors and vendors accounts.
  • Subsidiary Oversight: Monitor the general ledgers of subsidiary companies.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Liaise with employees of subsidiary companies, authorize intercompany transactions, and ensure reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Statutory Compliance: Timely obtain financial details from subsidiary/group companies for consolidation requirements.
  • Liaison: Liaise with bankers for daily operational requirements and provide required details.
  • Policy Adherence: Adhere to the organization's financial policies and procedures.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Liaise with other departments and business units, addressing their requirements in a timely manner.
  • Audit Support: Entertain statutory and internal auditors, providing required details and ensuring timely completion of audits.
  • Process Improvement: Suggest changes or improvements in existing processes.
  • Compliance: Assist in adherence to other statutory requirements and filings details.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance to policies as approved by the board, bringing concerns to management.

Career Development and Staff Management:

  • Coaching and Development: Coach and provide career development advice to staff.
  • Employee Performance: Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Staff Scheduling: Responsible for staff scheduling, including work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, backup for absent employees, etc.
  • Communication: Communicate with managers and other department colleagues.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other tasks assigned by the reporting senior.
  • Training and Awareness: Participate in trainings and promote awareness on policies throughout the department.
  • Personal Protective Equipment: Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable, advise and report when there is a failure to comply within the organization.

Compliance Responsibilities:

  • International Financial Reporting Standards: Comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to legal and regulatory norms on all applicable laws set forth by the nation and international community.
