The role of an Assistant Finance Manager plays a vital part in supporting the finance department to efficiently manage financial operations within a hotel setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Generate weekly and monthly management reports to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting processes by gathering financial data and assumptions from various departments.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses to identify trends and make recommendations for action.

This position also involves day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes. Additionally, review and reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial records to ensure compliance with hotel policies and regulatory requirements.

In this capacity, you will work closely with the Finance Manager and other team members to maintain the integrity of financial information and implement effective internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.

An essential aspect of this role is conducting financial analysis to support decision-making and identifying areas for improvement in revenue management and cost control. This requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to facilitate coordination with various departments.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, as well as proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Beyond these technical requirements, the successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively, and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with various departments.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in finance or accounting within the hospitality industry or a similar environment, with at least 1-2 years in a relevant role.
  • Strong analytical background, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
