Overview

This position requires a skilled Mechanical Inspector with expertise in MEP systems integration, testing procedures, and mechanical standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ASHRAE, SMACNA, and NFPA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections of HVAC systems, ductwork, chillers, AHUs, and exhaust systems to ensure compliance with shop drawings, specs, and method statements.
  • Verification: Verify the installation of plumbing and drainage lines, pumps, and valves to guarantee their functionality and safety.
  • Fire Safety: Oversee the installation of firefighting systems, including sprinkler systems and fire pumps, to prevent potential hazards.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of inspection activities and material verifications to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with electrical and structural inspectors during MEP coordination to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Testing and Commissioning: Witness testing and commissioning of systems (pressure tests, flow rates, BMS functionality) to validate their performance and efficiency.
  • NCRs: Identify and report defective or non-compliant mechanical works (NCRs) to rectify any issues promptly.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of mechanical inspection experience in large-scale or recreational projects.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of MEP systems integration, testing procedures, and mechanical standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA).
