We are seeking an experienced Telecommunications Engineer to drive the development of telecommunications systems, encompassing design basis and specifications.

About the Job

The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining complex telecommunications systems, including radio coverage calculations and Fresnel zone calculations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detailed Engineering Deliverables:
  • Create detailed engineering deliverables for telecommunications systems, including design basis and specifications.
  • Radio Coverage Calculations:
  • Conduct radio coverage calculations and Fresnel zone calculations.
  • Fiber Optic Link Budgets:
  • Perform fiber optic link budget calculations and data traffic analysis.
  • Telco Equipment Analysis:
  • Analyze telecom equipment power consumption and heat load.
  • Review and Input:
  • Review and provide input on engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Discipline Coordination:
  • Cordinate with other disciplines and review of their deliverables.
  • Site Surveys:
  • Carry out site surveys as required.
  • Client Interface:
  • Participate in client interface meetings.
  • Vendor Selection:
  • Evaluate and select telecommunications system vendors.
Requirements
  • A degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering with at least 5-10 years experience in detailed engineering and design of telecommunications works.
  • Familiarity with international codes, standards and recommended practices.
  • Ability to carry out design activity in a design-check-approve-authorize cycle.
  • General knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and flexible to work under tight schedules.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Fluent English language skills.
