Lead Cost Controller Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Cost Controller for a 12-month assignment in Oman. This is a residential role with the possibility of renewal.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of professional experience, with at least 10 years' experience in cost control systems, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

  • A degree in Accounting, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Technical competencies in SAP systems and project requirements are essential.
  • Languages: English and French are mandatory.
Mission and Responsibilities

The Service Holder will support the Project Control team on the LNG Bunkering Project during the Execution phase, focusing on cost control management.

  1. Evaluate and manage all project cost documentation.
  2. Support the Project Control and Project Team in cost control matters.
  3. Contribute to delivering the project on time and within budget.
  4. Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the project.
  5. Demonstrate exemplary behavior regarding HSE rules and Company Ethics.
Budget Planning and Management

The Lead Cost Controller will be responsible for:

  • Participating in project budget preparation.
  • Coordinating detailed budget preparation and issuance.
  • Providing ad-hoc support as required.
Cost Reporting and Analysis

The Lead Cost Controller will:

  • Prepare cost control reports.
  • Assist in cost trend analysis.
  • Monitor and assess commitments, variations, and work value.
Cost Control and Invoicing

The Lead Cost Controller will:

  • Monitor and control project expenditures.
  • Verify invoices and cash calls from contractors and vendors.
  • Estimate changes.
  • Develop a Work Breakdown Structure and Cost Breakdown Structure.
  • Establish comprehensive cost control procedures.
  • Monitor contingency usage.
  • Provide cost support and guidance to the Project Team.
  • Implement an efficient invoicing process between locations.
  • Monitor invoices and facilitate timely payment.
