The Lead Process Safety Engineer role is a critical position that requires expertise in ensuring the effective management of process safety risks across facilities.

About the Role

This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining a solid process safety governance framework, including procedures, regulations, and best practices. This involves:

  1. Developing and Improving Frameworks: Creating and refining frameworks, standards, and guidelines related to process safety, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  2. Risk Assessments and Monitoring: Conducting regular maturity assessments and monitoring compliance with established processes.
  3. Managing Risks: Developing and implementing risk registers and ensuring proper reporting.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of process safety principles, standards, and regulations, as well as experience in risk assessments and hazard analyses.

Responsibilities
  • Process Safety Leadership: Leading the implementation of process safety policies, systems, and procedures, considering lessons learned and industry best practices.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Developing project plans for process safety initiatives, including schedules, budgets, and resources.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Process Safety Barrier Management: Identifying, operating, and maintaining process safety barriers across all facilities, as part of Mechanical Integrity Systems.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in process safety engineering, with leadership experience in petrochemical and refinery environments.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Proficiency in developing safety concepts, designing safety systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance, as well as strong project management skills.
  • Education and Background: Deep understanding of process safety principles, standards, and regulations, as well as experience in risk assessments and hazard analyses.
