Job Description

  • This role involves hands-on field supervision and close coordination with service providers, ensuring seamless delivery across multiple project phases.
  • You will play a key part in pioneering safe and scalable subsurface operations that contribute to long-term CO₂ storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Execution: Design, plan, and execute the drilling and completion of injection, observation, and production wells.
  2. Technical Guidance: Develop and validate well construction designs, offering technical guidance and solutions.
  3. Well Delivery: Take ownership of well delivery and collaborate on interrelated engineering projects on-site.
  4. Field Operations: Supervise field operations, ensuring alignment between internal teams, service companies, and third parties.
  5. Contract Oversight: Contribute to the drafting and oversight of operational contracts with a focus on quality and performance.
  6. Technological Advancements: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and techniques in well construction.
  7. Critical Thinking: Apply critical thinking to operational challenges, developing tools like decision trees and option assessments.
  8. Operational Programs: Prepare detailed operational programs, including key milestones and decision checkpoints.
  9. Talent Acquisition: Participate in the recruitment and selection of technical experts to ensure smooth project execution.

Candidate Requirements:

  1. A bachelor's degree in drilling, petroleum engineering, or a related field is required, with at least 7 years of experience in well construction.
  2. The ideal candidate is passionate about sustainability and committed to advancing negative emissions technologies.
  3. A proven track record of successful project delivery, ideally within the Middle East region, is highly valued.
  4. Curiosity and a drive to broaden expertise in innovative applications are essential.
  5. A solid understanding of industry standards, safety protocols, and best practices is necessary.
  6. Experience working in CO₂ environments or extreme conditions is advantageous.
  7. Hands-on field experience is mandatory.
  8. IWCF certification is preferred; additional drilling certifications are a bonus.
