Software Engineer - Cloud Architect
">We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team as a Cloud Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based systems, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and meet the needs of our users.
">The ideal candidate will have experience with cross-platform development on macOS and Windows, as well as expertise in modern C++ development. They will also possess knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox, KVM, and QEMU.
">A strong background in software testing and test-driven development is essential, as is a commitment to writing high-quality code. The ability to collaborate proactively with a distributed team and foster an open-source community is also crucial.
">This is a remote position available in the EMEA region only. The successful candidate will be required to travel internationally for up to two weeks, twice a year, for company events.
">About the Role
">Cloud System Design: Ensure Multipass is easy and intuitive to use, architect new features, and design the user experience.
">Code Development: Write high-quality code to create new features and fix bugs, review code and architecture as part of Canonical's engineering process.
">Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate proactively with a distributed team, debug, track down, and fix issues encountered by our users, foster the open-source community, and support customers when needed.
">Travel and Work Environment: Travel internationally for up to two weeks, twice a year, for company events, work in a distributed environment with twice-yearly team sprints in person.

Requirements
">Cross-Platform Development Experience: Expertise in modern C++ development, knowledge of hypervisor technologies such as Hyper-V, VirtualBox, KVM, and QEMU.
">Software Testing and Quality Assurance: Strong background in software testing and test-driven development, commitment to writing high-quality code.
">Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, ability to collaborate proactively with a distributed team.
">Education and Certifications: Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar degree.
