Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Strategic Leadership and Business Development:
    • Leading and executing the business strategy for the country, focusing on expanding market share, improving profitability, and ensuring operational excellence across all services.
    • Identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends to grow the company's presence in the local and regional logistics markets.
    • Ensuring alignment between business goals and operational activities, developing both short-term and long-term growth strategies.
  • Operational Management:
    • Overseeing daily operations of freight forwarding, land transport, and other logistics services, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to clients.
    • Managing the entire supply chain process, including transport, warehousing, customs clearance, and delivery, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
    • Continuously assessing operational workflows to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Financial Management and P&L Responsibility:
    • Taking full ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the country's operations, driving profitability, cost control, and financial performance.
    • Developing and managing the budget for all departments, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to achieve business objectives.
    • Tracking key financial metrics, including revenue growth, cost efficiency, and profitability, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Leading, managing, and developing cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, customer service, and logistics personnel.
    • Setting clear performance goals and KPIs, ensuring that all teams meet their targets and contribute to business growth.
    • Fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, focusing on team development, talent retention, and productivity.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, business partners, and stakeholders in the transportation and logistics industry.
    • Ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction by providing tailored solutions, resolving issues promptly, and meeting service delivery expectations.
    • Overseeing customer contracts, negotiations, and renewals, ensuring the company's offerings are competitive and aligned with customer needs.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensuring that all operations comply with local regulations, international trade policies, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
    • Proactively identifying operational risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.
    • Ensuring all freight forwarding and land transport services meet the company's high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Market and Competitive Analysis:
    • Conducting market research and competitive analysis to understand industry trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
    • Monitoring changes in the transportation and logistics sector, adapting business strategies to remain competitive and responsive to market shifts.
    • Using data and insights to refine marketing strategies, sales approaches, and service offerings.
  • Sales and Marketing Strategy:
    • Developing and executing sales and marketing strategies to increase market share and attract new clients for both freight forwarding and land transport services.
    • Collaborating with the marketing team to create effective promotional campaigns, ensuring brand visibility and customer engagement in the local market.
