Project Development Specialist

Job Description

The Project Development Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the growth and development of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by providing expert consultations, project execution support, and hands-on guidance.

This includes delivering customized advisory services tailored to each SME's stage, needs, and sector focus. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship, financial performance, and digital innovation, aligned with Oman's national goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one business consultations to guide SME owners in business planning, operations, and digital adoption.
  • Conduct 360° business assessments at the start and end of the program to identify needs and measure impact.
  • Support SMEs in developing actionable business development strategies aligned with market demands and sector opportunities.
  • Lead the digital transformation stream by conducting a digital audit for each SME to identify gaps and opportunities, followed by developing a tailored digital transformation plan and overseeing its implementation in alignment with business goals.
  • Conduct regular site visits to evaluate SME operations and provide detailed, actionable feedback.
  • Coordinate and deliver coaching and mentoring sessions—covering areas like business development, leadership, and work-life balance.
  • Organize and follow up on specialized workshops in core areas such as marketing, finance, and technology adoption.
  • Maintain strong communication with SMEs, investors, and stakeholders to align expectations and provide timely updates.
  • Build an ecosystem network to refer SMEs to relevant service providers, corporates, and financing opportunities.
  • Maintain thorough and up-to-date project documentation, reports, and records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in SME support, business development, or digital transformation is preferred; however, fresh graduates with strong academic credentials and relevant interest in these areas are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proficiency in project management and digital tools implementation.
  • Solid understanding of SME sector dynamics and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and mentorship skills.
  • Experience or interest in digital adoption frameworks and SME capacity building.
