Poultry Farm Operations Manager

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Poultry Farm Operations Manager to oversee the cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of our farm facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Animal Care and Hygiene:
    • Develop and implement cleaning schedules for animal enclosures, barns, and housing areas.
    • Supervise and participate in regular deep cleaning of animal living spaces.
    • Monitor animal housing conditions to prevent pest infestations or unsanitary conditions.
    • Coordinate with the veterinary team to ensure medical procedures are prepared for.
  • Farm Facility Maintenance:
    • Oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all farm facilities, office spaces, restrooms, and surrounding grounds.
    • Manage waste disposal and cleaning equipment safely.
    • Ensure strict bio-security procedures at entry and exit points.
    • Supervise housekeeping staff and assign tasks.
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure hygiene and safety standards.
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
    • Implement and enforce safety protocols related to cleaning and hygiene.
    • Maintain records of cleaning schedules and incidents.
    • Collaborate with farm management to develop and update policies.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and manage cleaning supplies and personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Coordinate procurement for timely re-stocking of supplies and equipment.
    • Track usage and report shortages or issues.
    Requirements
    • A High School diploma or certification in housekeeping, sanitation, or a related field.
    • Certification in farm management, animal husbandry, or a related field is advantageous.
    • At least 8 years of experience in farm operations, with a focus on animal care, cleaning, and hygiene.
    • Proven experience in a supervisory or management role, overseeing a team of workers.
    • Experience in managing the housekeeping or sanitation of large-scale farms or agricultural operations.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with scheduling and inventory management software.
