Job Overview

A highly motivated instructor is required to teach and evaluate student performance in assigned courses related to Electrical Instrumentation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the field and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing teaching methodologies, preparing and presenting lessons, and conducting both classroom and laboratory activities.

They will also maintain course curriculum, provide student guides, arrange workshops for practical experiences, and monitor progress.

The instructor will assist in the process of requesting, coordinating, and maintaining instructional equipment and supplies.

They will prepare and administer examinations and other evaluation tools, evaluate and record student performance, and assist in the development of new courses and revisions to existing courses and instructional materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • To develop and review curriculum according to international standards and update as required.
  • To deliver classroom-based, practical, and on-job training at the Process/Utility facility for the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • To conduct assessments as per Competency Management System OPITO standards to check candidate knowledge in three stages: Basic Skills for Observations, Practical Skills for Demonstration of Capability, and Discipline Skills for Demonstration of Competency.
  • To plan and facilitate all necessary documentation, resources, and facilities for international accreditation and local approval body requirements.
  • To maintain relationships with Talent Development and Operation departments and ensure that training needs are met.
  • To work on continuous process improvement in the Training process by implementing efficient systems.
  • To maintain Asset Register and maintenance logs for equipment and consumables used in the Training Centre.
  • To prepare course-related documents, including course materials, assessments, and scheduling of various courses and long-term programs.
  • To assist in preparing the budget for the Training Department and optimizing cost and resources to reduce operational expenses.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation.
  • 8-10 years of operational experience in Instrumentation in the Oil & Gas Industry or relevant domain.
  • 4-5 years of training experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of process and operation of Oil & Gas processes and facilities (Upstream/Midstream & Downstream).
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • OPITO level 3 Assessor Qualification or similar.
  • Train the Trainer certification.
  • CompEx certification (Preferred not Mandatory).
