Lead Engineering Excellence in Mission Critical Systems

We are seeking a seasoned engineering leader to spearhead our efforts in making Ubuntu the go-to platform for mission-critical environments such as automotive, aerospace, and industrial robotics. As part of our team, you will be responsible for driving innovation and excellence in software development processes, tools, and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leverage your expertise in process management to enhance engineering culture and workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement continuous improvement processes.
  • Establish quality standards and qualification requirements to ensure exceptional software delivery.
  • Define metrics and KPIs to measure quality and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Beyond Canonical, foster strategic relationships with external working groups, committees, and partners to advance our vision.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in engineering and process management in agile environments.
  • Familiarity with standards addressing software quality, such as ISO/IEC 25010 or ASPICE.
  • Proven track record in developing and growing people and teams.
  • Success in leading compliance and certification efforts, with a deep understanding of stakeholders' needs.
  • Experience with Linux and its ecosystem.

Additional Skills:

  • A background in software development.
  • Experience in establishing product engineering development metrics and KPIs.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
