About the Opportunity

A growth-focused private investment platform, backed by prominent institutional and strategic partners in Asia and the Middle East, is expanding into the Gulf region. The firm has launched a clean energy and decarbonization fund targeting investments across hydrogen, energy storage, carbon capture, and broader sustainable infrastructure.

They are seeking a Vice President or Director to serve as the first on-the-ground team member in Oman, based in Muscat. This individual will play a pivotal role in originating, evaluating, and executing investments in growth capital and greenfield infrastructure projects aligned with the region's energy transition priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and lead transactions in Oman and the wider GCC in clean energy sectors: hydrogen, energy storage, CCUS, and sustainable infrastructure
  • Conduct due diligence, build financial models, and lead investment memoranda preparation for IC review
  • Manage local stakeholder relationships, including industrial partners, sovereign entities, and government-linked infrastructure developers
  • Support execution of both minority growth investments and majority-controlled greenfield projects
  • Represent the fund in Oman as a senior point of contact for partners, portfolio companies, and regulatory stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with the Hong Kong-based investment team on strategy alignment and capital deployment

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in private equity, project finance, infrastructure investment, or strategic corporate development
  • Demonstrated transaction experience in clean energy, energy transition, or infrastructure in emerging markets (MENA preferred)
  • Strong financial modeling and deal structuring capabilities
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a strong plus)
  • Entrepreneurial, autonomous, and comfortable operating in a lean startup-like environment
  • Prior exposure to Oman or the GCC market is highly desirable
