Job Summary:

Support the Production Manager or the Plant Manager for planning, production, design, and process engineering at the Sohar manufacturing facility to ensure that all products are manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality, according to planned protocols using the appropriate technology and supporting quality control while conferring with management to stay on budget and meet production deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support to plan and coordinate production processes on a daily basis to produce high-quality products.
  2. Responsible for creating job orders and reporting production in the ERP system.
  3. Confer with establishment personnel, vendors, or customers to coordinate production and shipping activities in line with the agreed schedule.
  4. Establish safety procedures and environmental regulations for employees.
  5. Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.
  6. Able to understand complex product drawings and interpret them to the shop floor staff.
  7. Assist in the preparation of Bill of Material (BOM) estimates for new or existing products.
  8. Perform data updating and analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
  9. Coordinate with all departments for necessary support related to shop floor activities and managing priorities.
  10. Coordinate with Shift Leaders and production operators about executing the shop floor activities as per the plan.
  11. Provide training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
  12. Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
  13. Investigate problems, analyze root causes, and derive resolutions.
  14. Hold departmental meetings as needed to discuss updates and/or changes in company policies, procedures, goals, etc.
  15. Ensure that permanent and temporary employees have read and understand the code of conduct, their job description, and visual inspection standards of the product.
  16. Coordinate O.J.T. (On Job Training) of new employees.
  17. Include and perform internal audits per API Q1 and ISO 9001.
  18. Motivate employees to give maximum effort in a professional manner.
  19. Other works as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:

Essential:

  1. B.S. Degree (or higher) in engineering or related technical area of study or equivalent experience.
  2. Working knowledge of manufacturing planning & processes.
  3. Training in Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems and technologies.
  4. Fluent in English; Arabic a plus.

Desirable:

  1. 3 or more years of experience working in Production, Quality, and testing activities (preferably in the fiberglass pipe industry).
  2. Up to 2 years of experience with composite products and equipment is a plus.
  3. Degree in Production or Industrial Engineering or equivalent stream.
