Base pay range

We have an urgent requirement for Monitoring & Incidents Analyst for our banking client in Muscat, Oman. The candidate is required to work on shifts to perform 24x7 command center duties.

Must-have qualifications:

  • Experience as an Incident or Problem Manager in an IT Application Operations environment.
  • Experience in performance monitoring and observability tools like Dynatrace, Riverbed NPM, SolarWinds, Grafana.
  • SRE certification is an added advantage.
Overall Accountability

The command centre is used for end-to-end monitoring and observing all IT services using relevant monitoring and observability tools. The candidate will be part of the team responsible for operating the 24x7 command centre and monitoring all bank IT assets, working on shifts as per the schedule.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring all monitoring tools are operational 24x7.
  • Monitoring critical systems, following up on service requests, and managing escalations.
  • Coordinating system inspections, emergency repairs, and management to achieve high uptime.
  • Performing incident reporting, analysis, and post-incident reviews.
  • Managing notifications, escalations, and incident documentation.
  • Leading crisis calls and managing war-room activities.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and vendors for swift incident resolution.
  • Maintaining knowledge bases and generating incident trend reports.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Perform impact analysis and system maintenance.
  • Ensure 24/7 shift availability.
  • Implement system enhancements using the bank's methodology.
  • Research emerging technologies and suggest improvements.
Key Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
  • At least 3 years' experience as an Incident or Problem Manager.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Riverbed NPM, SolarWinds, Grafana.
  • Knowledge of performance monitoring, observability, and IT best practices.
  • SRE certification is a plus.
  • Good communication and presentation skills; experience in banking is advantageous.
Additional Knowledge
  • Willingness to work on shifts.
  • Programming knowledge and database management skills.
  • Understanding of system design, SDLC, and current IT trends.
  • Effective documentation and reporting skills.
