Job Grade 5 Reporting To Senior Manager, Finance

Job Purpose

To execute the day-to-day activities of the finance department; prepare financial reports; perform account reconciliations, maintain the general ledger; review payroll payments and ensure compliance with all finance and accounts processes.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Description

Finance Strategy

Supports the implementation of the finance strategy, ensuring minimal variance to the strategy and business plan.

Provides input to the review of the finance manual and assists in documenting policies and processes to align with HIC's strategy and best practices.

Finance Operations

Executes daily accounting activities including accounts payables, receivables, general ledger, payroll, and vouchers to ensure accurate recordkeeping.

Monitors and ensures timely processing of invoices for prompt payments.

Reviews accounts payable and receivable, conducts monthly reconciliations, and recommends corrective actions for variances.

Records fixed asset acquisitions and disposals, generates monthly depreciation, and reconciles the Assets Register with the Ledger.

Assists in monitoring daily cash positions and highlights exceptions to the Finance Manager.

Supports the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate calculations of overtime, deductions, and allowances.

Monitors financial performance of subsidiaries and highlights deviations to the Finance Manager.

Maintains accurate and timely books in line with company policies and legal requirements.

Prepares financial reports, analyses, and ensures proper closing procedures.

Reviews payment vouchers before submission for approval.

Audits and Taxation

Coordinates with auditors, provides requested documents, and assists in addressing audit observations.

Supports in filing tax returns accurately.

Budgeting

Participates in budget discussions, addresses issues, and monitors expenses against the budget, highlighting variances.

Reporting

Prepares financial statements and assists in monthly MIS report preparation.

Resource Management

Assigns tasks to team members, monitors performance against KPIs, and ensures efficient resource utilization.

Job Qualifications and Experience

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.

Communication and Working Relationships

Internal: Collaborates with all departments for financial and budgeting purposes.

External: Interacts with auditors, consultants, subsidiaries, and banks for financial reporting and compliance.

The role may include additional responsibilities as required by management.
