Application Project Manager

An Applications Project Manager oversees assigned application and systems development projects of moderate to high complexity. This position is responsible for assembling the project team, assigning responsibilities, and managing schedules and resources to ensure timely completion of assigned projects.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Develop the project schedule and plan to ensure timely completion of the project. Obtain management and client agreement with the project plan and timeline, and advise of any obstacles or resource needs that may affect completion of the project as planned.
2. Develop a scope of work for the application to capture most of the requirements.
3. Act as a focal point who is responsible to follow up and deal with the application developer throughout the development of application and post launching.
4. Assemble the project team, identify competencies, and assign resources to development tasks appropriate to each individual's knowledge, skill, and abilities.
5. Communicate project goals, monitor project progress, and adjust resources as necessary to keep the project on track.
6. Apply project management tools and tracking systems to manage all aspects of project progress.
7. Utilize project resources and serve as an individual contributor to develop programming code or software modifications using appropriate languages and tools to optimize resources and meet functional user requirements.
8. Utilize project resources and serve as an individual contributor to analyze user system and application needs, determine and evaluate potential solutions, develop system specifications and requirements, and design application programs to meet the requirements.
9. Utilize project resources and serve as an individual contributor to design integrated solutions which may include applications, databases, networks, and related systems.
10. Utilize project resources and serve as an individual contributor to structure, implement, and maintain database systems. Establish policies, standards and procedures to ensure useful and readily accessible data.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. A Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field, with four years of experience in related positions.
2. Technical skill Sets:
   1. Candidates should have managed a minimum of 5 Mobile application projects.
   2. Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in mobile application management.
   3. Strong in mobile application technologies – Preferably IOS and Android.
   4. Experience of onsite project management using agile methodology is essential.
   5. Understanding of Apple/Android best practices for application development.
   6. Sufficient experience in both management of software projects and functional management of software development teams.
   7. Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents using the Agile methodology.
   8. Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals. Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
   9. Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
   10. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
   11. Develop required materials including technical specifications, project and resource plans, project updates, and presentation materials.
   12. Develop short term and long-term project plans, priorities and objectives.
   13. Understanding of available framework(s) for application development on iOS platform.
   14. Flexible and proactive/self-motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution.
   15. Ability to multi-task under pressure and work independently with minimal supervision.
   16. Excellent communication skills.

Knowledge/Skills:

1. Expert knowledge of application operations.
2. Expert abstract reasoning, problem isolation and troubleshooting skills.
3. Good knowledge of ITIL practices.
4. Experienced in working under pressure and tight deadlines.
