Central Bank of Oman is seeking to Recruit Competent, Committed, Self-motivated and Enthusiastic Omani Candidate as Senior IT Examiner.

Job Purpose:

To carry out regular as well as special IT examinations of the concerned financial institutions. Work either as an assistant in an IT Examination team and perform the tasks assigned by the IT Examiner-in-charge who is entrusted with the examination of the concerned financial institutions or work as an IT Examiner-in-charge and lead the IT examination team with the examination of the concerned financial institutions.

Key duties and Tasks:

  • Carrying out the functions assigned by the IT Examiner-in-charge in all relevant matters in line with the guidelines provided in the on-site examination check list and manual.
  • Preparing reports on whatever findings and observations at the examination and furnishing such reports and work sheets to IT the Examiner-in-charge on the target dates.
  • Participating in the exit meeting with financial institutions the senior management of the examinee to discuss their points of contest.
  • Incorporating changes to work done by him or assisting the IT Examiner-in-charge to do the changes in his area of the report as recommended by the Head of IT Section.
  • Undertaking the IT examination of the concerned financial institutions and completing the field work within the given time frame. During the examination of the assigned institution, giving necessary directions to the IT examiners who are assigned to the team to attend to all the tasks necessary for a complete and comprehensive examination.
  • Providing overall supervision and guidance to the other examiners assigned to the IT Examination Team and brief them with necessary instructions and directions on collection and reporting on issues entrusted to each of them.
  • Keeping the Head of IT Examination section informed of the progress of the examination and on any adverse features noticed at the examined financial institutions which needs urgent action and seeks his advice on any other matters whenever necessary.
  • Completing the draft violations and exceptions within the given time frame and sending them to the examinee financial institutions for management responses after getting them reviewed by the Head of IT Examination Section.
  • Arranging and attending the exit meeting with the senior management of the financial institutions to discuss their points of contest.
  • Writing the report and amending in the light of the discussions held in the exit meeting with the senior management of the examinee financial institutions within the prescribed time.
  • Carrying out the changes recommended by the Head of IT Examination section or and the Manager of the Department.
  • Carrying out any other related tasks as and when assigned by the Head of IT Examination Section or the Manager of the Department.
  • Acting with a sense of propriety and honesty and making a conscious attempt to safeguard the integrity of CBO.
  • Ensuring compliance with the procedures in all the relevant areas.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • 6 years of experience in IT Audit field.
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited university in IT, information/ cyber security, and Computer science.
  • Master in IT/cyber security or professional certificate (CISA, CISSP, CISM, PMP, CEH, Computer forensic, certifications) will be an advantage.
