Tasks

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement tasks related to the procurement of Subcontractor services. Their main duties include receiving requests from the site, reviewing and compiling the RFQ package, liaising between the Site Team and the Subcontractors, managing the tender process, analyzing quotes received to ensure scopes of work are complete, facilitating the negotiation process to finalize sub-contract awards, and tracking award amounts compared to budgets.

Responsibilities

  1. Subcontractor and Tender Management:
  2. Support in qualifying, analyzing, negotiating, and awarding sub-contracts for stipulated sum projects.
  3. Assist in the preparation of sub-trade tender documents for design-build and construction management projects.
  4. Conduct subcontract pre-qualifications.
  5. Bid Analysis and Contract Management:
  6. Support in presenting bid analysis to owners for construction management projects.
  7. Analyze, negotiate, and award sub-contracts.
  8. Assist in the preparation of contracts with subcontractors for design-build, construction management, and stipulated sum projects.
  9. Budget Monitoring and Quantity Estimation:
  10. Monitor project sub-contract amounts and compare them to original budget amounts.
  11. Support in quantity estimates of materials for comparison with subcontractor tender quantities.
  12. Assistance to Other Departments:
  13. Assist the estimating department with quote analysis at tender closing time.

Qualifications

  1. Education Degree Diploma or Bachelor (preferably in Construction or Economical field).
  2. Experience in procurement role or related within the construction field.
  3. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and Building Connected.
  4. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  6. Demonstrated ability to negotiate with vendors.
  7. Knowledge of local construction practices and delineation of work to create scopes for Sub-contractor Tender Packages.
  8. Ability to read and understand Tender Drawings, Specifications, and Estimation.
  9. Ability to negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers.
