Housekeeping Manager Position

To effectively provide a clean and comfortable room product that reflects the hotel's brand personality, one must be committed to dedicating time, effort, and attention. This involves supervising and coordinating all housekeeping activities.

Leadership Responsibilities:
  • Build a cohesive team by enhancing their commitment to work and the hotel.
  • Delegate tasks based on staff ability while ensuring sufficient authority and resources.
  • Communicate the hotel vision and brand personality to the team and integrate it into departmental business practices.
  • Train employees for current assignments and future growth.
  • Set high performance standards and recognize individual excellence.
  • Deal with substandard performance fairly, immediately, and constructively.
  • Schedule employees according to business needs.
Budgeting and Finance Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the annual departmental plan.
  • Monitor the budget and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Balance costs while providing guests value for money.
Communication Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively within the organization at all levels using the appropriate method.
  • Conduct regular briefings and concise departmental meetings, ensuring follow-up.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Adjust job requirements and operational strategies to meet business needs.
  • Maintain an efficient administrative system.
  • Continuously develop professionally through self-directed learning and company-sponsored training.
  • Stay updated on developments affecting your field of expertise.
Technical Expertise:
  • Ensure hotel cleanliness, including public areas, villas, guestrooms, and back-of-the-house spaces.
  • Assign responsibilities to subordinates, implement multi-tasking principles, and check performance regularly.
  • Handle guest inquiries efficiently and report complaints to the Executive Housekeeper.
  • Collaborate with Engineering for effective preventative maintenance.
  • Control consumption and maintain a cost-effective inventory of supplies.
  • Ensure linen and uniforms are well maintained.
  • Enforce health and safety regulations among HK staff.
  • Plan and implement regular general cleaning programs.
  • Implement energy conservation programs in coordination with Engineering.
  • Identify and plan FF&E/OE replacements.
  • Coordinate daily cleaning priorities and conduct room checks.
  • Establish a strict room key control system.
  • Support Departmental Training Function and undertake assigned tasks.
  • Strong leadership skills and proficiency in hospitality management or related fields are preferred.
  • At least three years of experience as a Housekeeping Manager or similar role in a luxury hotel setting is required.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities are essential.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and quality control experience are valuable.
  • Attention to detail and strong communication skills are crucial.
