System Messaging Specialist

We are looking for a highly skilled System Messaging Specialist to administer our WMQ/WMB systems. The successful candidate will have 5 years of progressive working knowledge of Enterprise Messaging Technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. System Management: Manage and administer WMQ/WMB systems, including performance monitoring, logging, backup, recovery, and health checks.
  2. Messaging Infrastructure Projects: Work on various messaging infrastructure projects to improve system efficiency and reliability.
  3. Tech Support: Provide up to 3rd Level technical support, including after-hours and weekend support.
  4. Reliability and Performance: Ensure the reliability and performance of MQ systems and deliver new features and services.
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with business, developers, and system administrators on planning and expanding infrastructure.
  6. Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system performance and connectivity issues, and coordinate with vendors on hardware and software solutions.
  7. Day-to-Day Administration: Perform day-to-day administration of WMQ/Message Broker.
  8. Clustering: Set up new WMQ/Message Broker instances and clustering in production environments.
  9. Application Teams: Support application teams on WMQ/Message Broker activities.
  10. Performance Support: Provide performance support, problem determination, and resolution.
  11. Script Development: Develop and deploy scripts for administration activities.
  12. Break/Fix Support: Offer break/fix support and fault diagnosis.
Essential Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • SSL Certificate Experience: Experience with SSL certificate installation, renewal, and configuration.
  • UNIX Experience: UNIX experience is essential.
  • Message Broker Monitoring: Exposure to Message Broker monitoring and performance tuning on UNIX platforms.
  • Messaging Operations: Strong background in messaging operations, administration, and support.
  • Troubleshooting Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills for complex message flow issues, with experience in vendor support escalation.
  • Message Flows Development: Experience in Message Flows development, deployment, and testing.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Hands-on experience in diagnosing message flow problems and SSL certificates in Message Broker environments.
  • Messaging Clustering: Understanding of messaging clustering, performance tuning, and infrastructure monitoring, including installation and configuration of messaging components.
  • MQ Suite: Extensive experience with IBM MQ suite, especially versions 6/7, on Intel/Linux systems.
  • Support and Administration: Ability to support and administer MQ services in a 24/7 environment.
  • Communication Skills: Good oral and written communication skills.
