About the Job

  • This position oversees the account management team, ensuring professional, responsive, and quality interactions with clients.
  • Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers, identifying opportunities for business expansion, and collaborating with the Business Development team to attract new clients.
  • The Commercial Lead is responsible for monitoring market trends, customer behavior, and industry shifts, assessing their impact on tenant operations and long-term sector viability.
  • Key responsibilities also include communicating key market insights and potential risks or opportunities to the line manager and executive management, supporting proactive decision-making.
  • Negotiating and managing client contracts in alignment with company policies is also essential.
  • Additionally, the Commercial Lead ensures contractual obligations are met by both the company and clients, working closely with legal and finance teams to maintain contract compliance.
  • Leadership skills are crucial, as this role involves providing overall direction for the effective achievement of department objectives through leadership of the account management team.
  • Other key aspects of the job include designing and improving departmental systems, processes, and procedures, championing the LEAN / Continuous Improvement culture within the department.
  • The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of contract structures, legal compliance, and client-facing documentation standards.
  • A proven track record in managing strategic client relationships, negotiations, and driving revenue growth is essential for this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Studies, Commercial Management, Logistics, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in account management, business development, or related roles, preferably within logistics, port, or free zone sectors.

  • Familiarity with port and free zone regulations, trade policies, and commercial operations is highly advantageous.
