About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with open-source communities, software developers, and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • ">
  • Maintaining conversations with developer community members on various platforms, including IRC, social media, product forums, meet-ups, and more.">
  • Contributing to technical documentation to ensure that developer users' needs are met.">
  • Working on technical articles, presentations, or workshops to promote our products and services.">
  • Helping solve specific technical problems that users or colleagues have identified.">
  • Identifying new opportunities and directions for improvement in the developer experience we provide.">
  • Presenting at conferences, meetups, or technical events.">

Requirements

">
  • ">
  • A strong passion for and engagement in open-source software.">
  • Practical hands-on experience of Linux software packaging, including Snaps, debs, charms, rocks, PIP, containers.">
  • Understanding of current software packing issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem.">
  • Experience as a contributor to open-source communities, software, and documentation.">
  • An engaging, vivacious speaker and presenter.">
  • Ability to work effectively, tactfully, empathetically, and confidently in contexts where different parties have different perspectives, needs, and understanding.">
  • Willingness to travel globally twice a year for company events, as well as to upstream and partner events.">
