We are seeking a skilled Assistant Resident Engineer to join our team.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to support the Resident Engineer in supervising and managing on-site construction activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee daily construction activities on-site and monitor contractor performance.
  2. Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards.
  3. Coordinate with site inspectors to ensure regular inspections are carried out and documented.
  4. Review and comment on contractor submissions such as method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals.
  5. Support progress monitoring, schedule adherence, and quality assurance measures.
  6. Attend site coordination meetings and prepare minutes of meetings and site reports as required.
  7. Identify and resolve technical and construction issues in coordination with the Resident Engineer.
  8. Ensure work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  9. Maintain project documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and correspondence logs.
  10. Liaise with contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  2. Minimum 10 years' experience in site supervision, preferably on port, marine, or infrastructure projects.
  3. Familiarity with construction standards, specifications, and best practices in civil and marine engineering.
  4. Good technical and analytical skills with a focus on quality and safety.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  6. Strong communication and coordination skills.
  7. Experience working in Oman or GCC is an advantage.
  8. Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
