Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Petrophysicist to join our team, responsible for creating and evaluating logging programs, interpreting log data, and supervising various activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create logging programs for conventional and non-conventional methods.
  • Interpret log data from cased hole logging, using techniques such as FMI, Segma, VSP, NMR, etc.
  • Develop core analysis programs for wells to be cored.
  • Determine Formation Water Level (FWL) and build Static Holdup Fraction (SHF) model using Micropalaeontological Classification (MICP).
  • Integrate Petroleum Potential (PP) data in subsurface reservoir characterizations.
  • Calculate reservoir volumetric parameters, including saturation, porosity, m and n factors.
  • Analyze the value of petro-physical data acquisition or analysis.
  • Represent the company at Technical Committee Meetings, focusing on PP elements.
  • Mentor young Omani Graduates and establish a technical training program.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Petrophysical Engineering within the oil industry or service company, preferably in the Middle East region.
  • Experience in logging operations, core measurements, laboratory experiments, data interpretation, and integrated reservoir studies.
  • Proficiency in latest industry tools and petrophysical interpretation techniques for clastic and carbonate reservoir systems.
  • Familiarity with petrophysical and geological analysis integration.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure, and provide input in short project timelines.
