Job Opportunity

This role entails overseeing the development, deployment, and operation of a national Bitcoin mining pool gateway. It requires technical leadership, infrastructure resilience, security, compliance reporting, and coordination with Antpool and regulators.

Key Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and deploying a secure and resilient infrastructure for the national Bitcoin mining pool gateway.
  • They will ensure the gateway operates with high availability and uptime, meeting the target of 99.5%.
  • The individual will be accountable for incident response, with an aim to resolve issues within 2 hours or less.
  • They will work towards onboarding licensed miners at 100% efficiency and achieving zero critical breaches in security incidents.
  • The role also involves timely reporting of compliance to MTCIT.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Security, or a related field is mandatory.
  • A Master's degree (MBA or IT Management) can be advantageous.
  • The ideal candidate should have over 10 years of experience in infrastructure/systems engineering/cybersecurity.
  • They should possess at least 5 years of leadership experience in managing mission-critical infrastructure.
  • Experience in crypto mining pools, blockchain infrastructure, or fintech platforms is highly desirable.
  • Strong networking knowledge, including BGP, VPNs, and DDOS mitigation, is essential.
  • Linux systems, virtualization, database operations, wallet management, multisig setups, and key security practices are also crucial.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools, logging systems, and ticketing systems is necessary.
  • Understanding of mining protocols and FPPS/PPS payout models is beneficial.
Required Skills
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills are vital.
  • Strong risk management and decision-making abilities are required.
  • Liaising with government regulators and international partners is a key aspect of this role.
  • Fluency in English is a must; Arabic is an added advantage.
Performance Metrics
  • Gateway uptime: ≥99.5%.
  • Incident response time: ≤2 hours.
  • Percentage of licensed miners onboarded: target 100%.
  • Security incidents: target 0 critical breaches.
  • Compliance: 100% timely reporting to MTCIT.
