About this Role

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Commis – Pastry/Bakery to assist in the preparation of various baked goods, pastries, and desserts under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.

This entry-level role involves assisting in:

  • Preparing pastries, bread, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods according to established recipes and guidelines.
  • Mise-en-place and daily production tasks under senior chefs' supervision.
  • Maintenance of cleanliness and organization of the pastry and bakery workstation.
  • Proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products.
  • Following hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP or equivalent).
  • Safe operation of bakery equipment under supervision.
  • Setup and breakdown of the pastry section for service.
  • Learning and applying pastry techniques, processes, and presentation styles as instructed by senior chefs.
  • Minimizing waste and maintaining quality control in all preparations.

We require someone with a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably with a culinary diploma or certification in Baking & Pastry from a recognized institution. Previous experience or internship in a pastry/bakery environment is an advantage.
