Seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic team for a major LNG project, part of an energy transition strategy.

This residential role in Muscat, Oman involves overseeing mechanical, static equipment, lifting equipment, and rotating equipment activities for optimal plant performance, safety, and reliability.

The job holder will manage all aspects of mechanical disciplines within the company's Maintenance & Inspection team, reporting directly to the Maintenance and Inspection Manager.

Main tasks and responsibilities include:

  1. Project phase: Develop MIE deliverables, maintain relationships with site personnel, technical teams, contractors, vendors, and engineering teams.
  2. Prepare and validate maintenance programs for rotating and static equipment.
  3. Ensure complex site maintenance procedures are prepared, incorporating best practices.
  4. Develop technical scopes of work and participate in tender preparations for maintenance contracts during the operational phase.

In an integrated project team, you will:

  1. Lead MIE process development related to Mechanical, providing detailed input and supporting overall strategy development.
  2. Participate in interdisciplinary activities, including maintenance strategy development, planning, and procedure writing, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.
  3. Contribute to developing and implementing MIE tools, processes, and systems.
  4. Assist in pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Operation phase:

  1. Provide technical and administrative support to site and control tower.
  2. Manage and monitor mechanical maintenance activities, planning for short, medium, and long-term needs.
  3. Ensure availability of spare parts, procedures, and manpower through CMIMS system management.
  4. Manage specific maintenance contracts and monitor contractor performance.
  5. Implement actions for Downgraded Situations (DGS) and develop long-term investment plans for obsolete equipment.
  6. Develop and implement maintenance strategies, methods, and procedures.
  7. Ensure planning and scheduling are optimized and integrated into the Field IOP.
  8. Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including condition monitoring techniques, to maximize equipment availability at minimal cost.

Desired background and experience:

  • Operational maintenance experience within LNG or Oil & Gas sectors.
  • At least 10 years' experience in mechanical maintenance, with 5 years in field operations.
  • Minimum 3 years in supervisory roles.
  • Experience in resource control, contract management, and project management is beneficial.
