Contractual and Commercial Expertise

Synergy and coordination are key in ensuring the smooth execution of projects. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing contractual, commercial, and control activities to guarantee project success.

You will develop and implement procedures related to contract management, including tracking changes to contract scope, maintaining Variation Order registers, Disputes registers, and Employer claims/contra-charges registers.

  • Draft all outgoing contractual correspondence with Contractors and review all outgoing correspondence and meeting minutes with contractual implications.
  • Maintain follow-up on guarantees and insurances provided by Contractors and updates as required by the Contract.
  • Oversight responsibility for satisfactory performance of the following functions:
  • Guide Quantity Surveyor activities to ensure timely and accurate measurement of work executed for progress payments and evaluation of work executed against provisional sums.
  • Monitor schedule adherence and progress by Senior Planning Engineer to support variation and claims management, generating input for external and internal reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive cost databases and risk registers to support variation and claims management, generating input for external and internal reporting purposes.
Required Expertise

A strong foundation in engineering-related fields is essential for this role.

  • Technical/Engineering-related university degree.
  • No less than 10 years' experience in relevant field of expertise for similar projects.
  • MRICS/FRICS certified.
  • MCIArb/FCIArb advantageous.
  • LLM/MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution desirable.
  • Prior experience in GCC region advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently in commercial/contracts manager role, possessing excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in procurement under different forms of contract for major rail transit and/or transport projects.
  • Background within railway systems beneficial.
