Mining Engineer Job Description

As a highly skilled Mining Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing daily, weekly, and monthly mine plans based on the overall production schedule.

  • You will supervise drilling, blasting, excavation, hauling, and ore stockpiling activities to ensure efficient and effective operation of the mine.
  • Your key responsibility will be to ensure proper implementation of grade control and coordinate with geologists and survey teams to optimize resource extraction.
  • You will enforce strict adherence to HSE regulations and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • A critical aspect of this role is monitoring equipment performance and optimizing usage to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • You will maintain detailed records of production, delays, and operational data to inform strategic decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in open-pit mining operations, preferably with Surpac and MineSched software proficiency.
  • Strong understanding of drilling and blasting practices, grade control, and mining regulations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to work effectively in remote project locations and manage field operations under pressure.
