Environmental Officer Job Description

The role of Environmental Officer is a vital position within an organization that focuses on ensuring environmental sustainability and minimizing the impact of operations on the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, Review and Revise the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP):
  • Deliver Training on Environmental Management Requirements and Prepare Communication Materials;
  • Integrate Environmental Requirements in Method Statements and Risk Assessments;
  • Conduct Regular Site Inspections, Generate Reports and Coordinate Closeout with Concerned Teams;
  • Perform Environmental Monitoring and Manage Response to Incidents;
  • Participate in Audits and Carry Out Environmental Assessments;
  • Gather Data and Report to Client, Authority and Corporate Team;

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong Interpersonal and Soft Skills to Build Collaborative Working Relationships;
  • Raise Environmental Awareness and Recommend Operational Improvements;
  • Proven Ability to Manage Complex Workload, Prioritize Tasks and Communicate Effectively;
  • Ability to Comprehend and Interpret Environmental Related Documents;
  • Degree in Environmental Studies or Related Field;
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience as Environmental Engineer/Officer in Oman/GCC Region;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic;
  • ISO 14001:2015 Certification.
