HSE Manager Position

The role of the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer/Manager in the construction field is pivotal in ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of all operations on-site. This position entails minimizing risks, ensuring legal compliance, and maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel involved in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health & Safety Management: Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Assessments & Safety Planning: Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop effective safety plans to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
  • Training and Education: Provide training and education to employees on health, safety, and environmental procedures, and ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all documentation related to health, safety, and environmental compliance is accurate, up-to-date, and readily available for review.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans to address unexpected events, such as accidents or natural disasters, and ensure that all personnel are aware of their roles and responsibilities in responding to emergencies.Desired Candidate Profile

    A strong candidate for this HSE Manager position will possess:

    • Qualification: A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
    • Certification: Certification in Health, Safety, and Environmental management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent).
    • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of experience in HSE roles within the construction industry.
    • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction industry safety regulations, standards, and practices.
    • Skills: Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and engage workers at all levels.
    • Additional Requirements: Knowledge of ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) standards is a plus, as well as experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations.Working Conditions
