Accounting Operations Manager Role

The role of a Senior GL Accountant is to support the Accounting Manager in managing the company's financial operations. This involves producing periodic statutory financial reports, maintaining accurate accounting records, developing internal controls to mitigate risks, and ensuring compliance with international financial reporting standards and local statutory requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide and analyze financial information to inform strategic business decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the Business Plan/Budget as needed.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Maintain relationships with various stakeholders (internal or external).

Operational Tasks

  • Ensure timely and accurate booking of business transactions at both company and parent levels.
  • Produce various General Ledger Reports as needed.
  • Coordinate and collect information from investees, subsidiaries, and associated companies for consolidated financial reports.
  • Lead closing processes and activities (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annually).
  • Lead audit activities (internal and external).
  • Produce inputs required for management reports.
Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or equivalent.
  • Additional professional accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA) is preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience, with 3 years in a similar position.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS requirements.
  • Data analytical skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Oracle system and its accounting functionality.
  • Understanding of accounting and reporting requirements for holding companies with multiple investments.
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in Arabic is desired.
