Job Description

The Insurance Portfolio Management Specialist will oversee and analyze the organization's insurance portfolio, covering aviation and non-aviation risks. This includes managing policies for aircraft hull, liability, passenger liability, property, general liability, cyber risk, employee-related coverage (health, life, benefits), and regulatory compliance.

This specialist will liaise with insurers and brokers, supporting risk mitigation strategies to protect assets, employees, and passengers. Additionally, they will provide support to the department head and management for seamless operations and effective risk management.

  • Insurance Policy Management:
    • Procure and manage insurance policies aligned with operational risks.
    • Review policies and contracts for compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
    • Negotiate renewals, ensure timely placement of coverage, and maintain records of policies, claims, and premiums.
    • Conduct risk assessments for aviation and non-aviation operations, ensuring compliance with aviation industry regulations (IATA, ICAO, FAA, EASA) and local laws.
    • Identify emerging risks (cybersecurity, geopolitical, environmental) and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on insurance clauses in contracts.
  • Claims Management & Coordination:
    • Manage insurance claims, including investigations, documentation, and negotiations.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders for claims processing and settlements.
    • Monitor claims trends and advise on policy adjustments.
    • Ensure accurate claim reporting and documentation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management Support:
    • Assist senior management with insurance-related tasks.
    • Work with internal departments to ensure risk coverage.
    • Coordinate with external brokers, underwriters, and authorities.
    • Prepare reports, presentations, and cost analyses.
    • Analyze premium trends and suggest cost-saving strategies.
    • Negotiate policy terms and pricing.
    • Conduct employee awareness sessions on insurance and risk management.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, finance, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in insurance portfolio management and risk analysis, or a Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.

You should also possess:

  • Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) certification (ACII, Cert, Dip).
  • Extensive experience in insurance policies and global risk management practices.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks locally and internationally.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance markets and risk placement structures.
