Job Overview

Our company seeks a skilled Network Operations Center Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and perform basic operations support for Nokia DWDM networks.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring: Monitor alarms, events, and performance KPIs on Nokia DWDM equipment via NMS like Nokia 1350 OMS.

  • Fault Management: Perform initial diagnosis of DWDM network issues, log, categorize, and prioritize incidents and requests in the ticketing system.

  • Escalation and Coordination: Escalate complex faults to L2/L3 or Field teams following defined SLA timelines, coordinate with field engineers and vendors for fault rectification activities.

  • Maintenance and Support: Assist in planned maintenance windows (PMWs), provide support for scheduled upgrades or patching activities, validate post-maintenance network health.

  • Reporting: Prepare and share shift-wise handover reports and fault summary reports, update technical documentation and operational procedures when necessary.

Requirements
  • Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of DWDM technologies, hands-on experience with Nokia DWDM platforms like 1830 PSS.

  • Basic knowledge of network management tools, familiarity with optical performance metrics like OSNR, BER, PMD, etc.

  • Basic TCP/IP, Ethernet, and IP networking knowledge.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.

  • 0-2 years of experience in NOC operations or optical network support.

  • Nokia certifications are a plus.
