Asset Performance Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Asset Performance Specialist to support our strategic objectives across a diverse portfolio of subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring asset performance, tracking turnaround progress, and analyzing financial data to inform business decisions.

This role involves conducting in-depth analysis of financial and operational data, providing actionable insights, and collaborating with internal and subsidiary stakeholders to drive strategic alignment.

The Asset Performance Specialist will also be responsible for mentoring junior analysts, ensuring knowledge transfer and the application of robust analytical methodologies throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic & Business Planning

  • Support the alignment of subsidiary business plans with corporate strategy through financial planning and analysis.
  • Review financial plans and KPIs for consistency with strategic objectives, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Evaluate capital expenditure proposals for return expectations, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Track operational risk registers and assess financial implications, providing recommendations for mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare structured recommendations for subsidiary board representatives, informing their decision-making process.

• Asset & Financial Performance Monitoring

  • Review central dashboards to synthesize portfolio performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Interpret subsidiary performance data, identifying root causes and developing solutions to address them.
  • Benchmark KPIs against targets and industry metrics, providing insights into areas for improvement.
  • Monitor compliance with data submission timelines, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

• Operational & Supply Chain Efficiency

  • Assess procurement data to identify cost drivers and savings opportunities, linking supply chain insights to financial outcomes.

• Turnaround, Restructuring & Value Creation

  • Track and assess turnaround initiatives' impact on KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and recommending strategies for enhancement.
  • Support restructuring assessments and asset performance diagnostics, providing insights into areas for improvement.
  • Recommend cost reduction, realignment, or divestment strategies, aligning with business objectives.

• Financial Decision Support

  • Conduct ROI, break-even, and sensitivity analyses for operational and investment decisions, informing business leaders.
  • Provide ad-hoc analysis for board or management directives, supporting informed decision-making.

• Reporting & Deliverables

  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports, highlighting key trends and insights.
  • Maintain monitoring trackers and scenario analysis models, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Provide recommendations for value enhancement and performance improvement, aligning with business objectives.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 6-10 years of experience in asset management, financial analysis, or business planning.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and interpreting performance data in a multi-subsidiary environment.
• Experience working in multi-subsidiary environments or holding companies, with a strong understanding of strategic planning.
• Familiarity with turnaround strategies, restructuring, and performance enhancement, with a focus on driving business growth.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), with experience in creating interactive dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certifications such as CFA, CMA, CPA, demonstrating expertise in finance and accounting.

Other Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration, with a strong academic record.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights, with excellent communication skills.
