About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the freight operations in the region, driving business growth, and ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute the business strategy for the region, focusing on expanding market share and improving profitability.
    • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, partnerships, and market trends to grow the company's presence in the local and regional logistics markets.
  • Operational Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of freight forwarding, land transport, and other logistics services, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to clients.
    • Manage the entire supply chain process, including transport, warehousing, customs clearance, and delivery, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Financial Management:
    • Take full ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the region's operations, driving profitability, cost control, and financial performance.
    • Develop and manage budgets for all departments, ensuring resources are effectively allocated to achieve business objectives.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, manage, and develop cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, customer service, and logistics personnel.
    • Set clear performance goals and KPIs, ensuring that all teams meet their targets and contribute to business growth.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, business partners, and stakeholders in the transportation and logistics industry.
    • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing tailored solutions, resolving issues promptly, and meeting service delivery expectations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all operations comply with local regulations, international trade policies, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
    • Proactively identify operational risks and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity and minimize disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in transportation and logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Country Manager or General Manager.
  • Extensive experience in freight forwarding and land transport operations, with a deep understanding of the logistics industry.
  • Proven track record of managing P&L, driving business growth, and improving operational performance in a competitive market.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, shipping processes, and international logistics standards.
