Project Control Specialist Job Description

As a seasoned project control specialist, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining comprehensive project control plans to ensure timely completion of projects. Your expertise in earned value management (EVM) techniques will enable you to analyze cost and schedule variances, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project control plans to monitor progress and performance against the project baseline.
  • Implement EVM techniques to analyze cost and schedule variances.
  • Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Facilitate risk management processes by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential project risks.
  • Prepare and present periodic progress reports, dashboards, and metrics to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure resource allocation aligns with project priorities and schedules.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is an asset.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant project controls experience in oil and gas, construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI-SP, or CCP are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced project management software and tools.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, including cost estimation techniques and budgeting processes.
