We are seeking a well-connected and knowledgeable Government Relations Officer to manage and coordinate all interactions between the hotel and government entities. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, securing necessary permits and licenses, and maintaining strong relationships with governmental and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, deep understanding of government procedures, and experience handling official documentation, visas, labour matters, and permits relevant to the hospitality sector.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the hotel and government authorities, ministries, and regulatory bodies.
  • Process and renew all required licenses, permits, and certifications (e.g., tourism, health, fire, liquor, operating licenses).
  • Manage visa and work permit applications, renewals, and cancellations for expatriate employees in compliance with labor and immigration laws.
  • Support HR in handling employment contracts, labor law compliance, and governmental inspections.
  • Ensure timely submission of all official documentation, payments, and compliance reports.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in government regulations and advise management on their implications.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Represent the hotel in meetings, audits, or investigations conducted by government bodies.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors when necessary to ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all government-related documentation and communication.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, Law, or a related field.
  • at least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the hospitality, tourism, or corporate sector.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor, immigration, municipal, and business regulations.
  • Proven experience dealing with government departments such as labor, immigration, tourism, health, and civil defense.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills in both local language and English.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines and compliance-related tasks.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
  • Professional demeanour and discretion when handling sensitive matters.
