Support the Production manager or the Plant Manager for planning, production, design and process engineering at the Sohar manufacturing facility to ensure that all products are manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality, according to planned protocols using the appropriate technology and supporting quality control and conferring with management to stay on budget and meet production deadlines.

Job Summary.

Support the Production manager or the Plant Manager for planning, production, design and process engineering at the Sohar manufacturing facility to ensure that all products are manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality, according to planned protocols using the appropriate technology and supporting quality control and conferring with management to stay on budget and meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support to plan and coordinate production processes on daily basis to produce high quality products.
• Responsible for creating job orders and reporting production in ERP system.
• Confer with establishment personnel, vendors or customers to coordinate production and shipping activities inline with agreed schedule
• Establish safety procedures and environmental regulations for employees.
• Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities to ensure maximum production.
• Able to understand the complex product drawings and interpret them to the shopfloor staff
• Assist in preparation of Bill of Material (BOM) estimates for new or existing products
• Perform data updating and analysis to reduce downtime and outages.
• Coordinate with all departments for necessary support related to shopfloor activities and managing priorities.
• Coordinate with Shift Leaders and production operators about executing the shopfloor activities as per the plan.
• Provides training and guidance to team members to accomplish production goals.
• Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality and reliability.
• Investigate problems, analyze root causes and derive resolutions
• Hold departmental meetings as needed to discuss updates and/or changes in company policies, procedures, goals, etc.
• Ensure that permanent and temporary employees have read and understand the code of conduct, their job description and visual inspection standards of product.
• Coordinate O.J.T. (On Job Training) of new employees.
• Include & performs internal audits per API Q1 and ISO 9001.
• Motivate employees to give maximum efforts in professional manner.
• Other works as assigned.
  
  

Essential

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/SKILL-SET REQUIRED:

• B.S. Degree (or higher) in engineering or related technical area of study or equivalent experience;
• Working knowledge of manufacturing planning & processes
• Training in Quality Assurance and Quality Control systems and technologies;
• Fluent in English, Arabic a plus
  
  

Desirable

• 3 or more years' experience working in Production, Quality and testing activities (preferably in fiberglass pipe industry)
• Up-to 2 years Experience with composites products and equipment is a plus
• Degree in Production or Industrial Engineering or equivalent stream
