Responsible for sourcing and developing business, maintaining a positive image of the bank, ensuring high standards of service delivery to bank customers, managing, motivating, and training the branch team, ensuring the smooth functioning of branch operations, compliance with statutory and other regulations and guidelines, reducing costs with the focus on maximizing profitability, and assisting senior management in the development of business plans and budgets.
Key ObjectivesBusiness Development- Implement the agreed sales and marketing plan in the branch with the involvement of Retail Management.
- Implement new product launches as per guidelines provided.
- Promote the bank by increasing the customer profile to generate new business opportunities.
- Generate new business by meeting potential and existing customers.
- Review and monitor daily branch reports like MIS, target performance, etc., to predict and control attrition based on reports and market trend analysis, keeping risk at a minimum.
- Review and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) of the branch and ensure compliance.
- Set high personal standards in customer interactions to motivate branch staff to reach higher performance levels.
- Achieve high customer satisfaction by defining roles and responsibilities and monitoring branch resources to meet service standards.
- Deepen relationships with high net worth customers and manage escalated customer issues.
- Maintain high staff morale to ensure superior service delivery and low staff turnover.
The sales manager will conduct monthly surprise checks to ensure:
- Operational procedures for branch processing activities adhere to SOPs.
- Optimal cash levels in the branch, minimized ATM downtime, and timely cash replenishment.
- All counter transactions are processed accurately according to procedures.
- Cash differences are eliminated through diligent control and monitoring.
- Feedback is provided to departments like Audit and Compliance on process adherence.
- Cash shortages and excesses at counters and ATMs are zero.
- Thorough investigation of cash balancing and reconciliation differences.
- All policies and processes are followed to maintain an acceptable risk rating.
- GL lines are monitored, balanced, and reconciled as per guidelines.
- Deviations and exceptions are investigated, documented, and resolved promptly.
- Coordination with Main Branch for cash shipments and ATM service continuity.
- Custody of safekeeping items, including cash, is maintained through surprise checks.
- Monitor accounts for money laundering or fraud.
- Report suspicious transactions, credit risk, market, and operational risks.
- Review credit applications and recommend approvals according to policies and authority limits.
- Remain vigilant for potential frauds and adhere to Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
- Manage team performance, motivation, and development.
- Mentor junior staff.
- Set objectives, review performance, and identify training needs.
- Manage branch staff on operations and sales.
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience in the banking sector.
