
Strategic Business Development Executive

This role oversees the management of joint ventures, ensuring their growth and success while upholding the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
About the Role- The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business expansion in Oman, aligning with strategic plans and objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in people management, commercial experience, and a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
Main Responsibilities- P&L responsibility with associated commercial and financial accountability.
- General supervision and management of the JV Company, delivering performance management objectives, agreed business plans, budget, and targets.
- Developing and managing budgets, establishing policies, and implementing governance mechanisms for continuous monitoring.
- Acting as Project Sponsor/Contract Representative on key projects, ensuring customer needs are met while maintaining utmost integrity.
- Keeping the Board of Directors informed of project progress and all matters concerning contracts.
- Identification, validation, and leadership of key prospects and opportunities.
- Facilitating client meetings with appropriate personnel to achieve business objectives and meet client needs.
- Coordinating input into the LRM process and participating in reviews.
- Providing support to aid with forecasting, re-forecasting activities, and prospect portfolio management.
- Maintaining opportunity records in the CRM system for accuracy, governance, and compliance.
- Being an ambassador for collaboration, working with regional entities to ensure an aligned, structured, and strategic customer approach to business growth and market expansion.
The successful candidate will be accountable for positioning plan compliance for all live and future opportunities. Regular client visits will ensure independent customer feedback is obtained, analyzed, and built into improvement plans.
Qualifications and Requirements- Degree-qualified engineer.
- Minimum 10 years relevant business start-up and management experience.
- Strong experience in business partnering, excellent track record in people management, demonstrable commercial experience, and previous experience leading and developing a team.
- Good IT/systems knowledge, sound knowledge of Oil & Gas services business and accounting methodology, and excellent knowledge of Wood's offering.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and negotiating skills, setting an example and fully participating in company values, building strong relationships across the business.
