Job Title: Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and integrity of plant equipment and systems.


About the Role:

  1. Implement approved standards, procedures, and schedules to ensure optimal plant performance.
  2. Perform scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance, updating work history and data in the CMMS system.
  3. Generate testing protocols, certificates, and documentation aligned with established standards, linking to respective equipment within the CMMS.
  4. E nsure application of approved standards, procedures, and schedules for plant reliability and integrity according to company guidelines.
  5. Carry out tasks including placing spades, opening pipe flanges, recognizing gasket types, bolts, and nuts.
  6. Conduct proper slinging and lifting with chain-blocks and small cranes.
  7. Remove and re-install rotating equipment like pumps and motors.
  8. Replace mechanical seals in pumps and compressors.
  9. Obtain rotating equipment machine clearances and dimensional data.
  10. Aquire PTW certificate and undertake all responsibilities of PTW holder.
  11. Work extended hours and respond to call-out duties as required.
  12. Certify flange tightening, rigging, and slinging.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Degree, HND, or Diploma in a relevant field or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Over 10 years in mechanical maintenance within petrochemical/oil and gas or power generation industry.
  3. Specific Skills:
  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking) to IELTS level.
  • Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Windows, with good understanding of these tools.
  • Trained and experienced in rotating equipment alignment, including reverse dial gauge alignment and laser alignment.
  • Ability to lead less experienced team members.
  • Skilled in pulling-up gland packing and replacement.
  • Meet requirements for a Mechanical Technician.
  • Knowledge of spare parts identification and management.
