Bakery Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced bakery director to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and team management, with a proven track record of overseeing production in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

About the Role:

The bakery director will be responsible for leading daily operations, developing and implementing new menu items, collaborating with the executive chef, mentoring and training a small team of bakers, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety and hygiene protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations to ensure consistency and excellence in all baked goods and desserts.

  • Develop and implement new menu items that reflect a high level of creativity and culinary expertise.

  • Collaborate with the executive chef to maintain cohesive flavors and presentation throughout the menu.

  • Mentor and train a small team of bakers to develop their skills and ensure high-quality products.

  • Implement quality control measures to ensure each item meets the highest standards of taste and visual appeal.

  • Sources ingredients that meet high-quality standards while ensuring efficiency and minimizing waste.

  • Develop and maintain accurate recipe documentation and cost controls to optimize inventory and reduce waste.

  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene protocols, including HACCP standards.

  • Assist with special events and custom orders as needed to provide personalized and high-quality offerings.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in baking and pastry preparation, with a creative flair and attention to detail. They will also have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to deliver exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 to 4 years of experience as a baker and pastry chef, with prior experience in a leadership role.
