Job Title: Hotel Sales Strategist

Sales and Marketing Responsibilities:

  1. To develop and implement effective sales strategies to grow business revenue and customer base.
  2. To maintain a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales, telephone, fax, and written communications.
  3. To ensure comprehensive coverage of accounts' managerial and departmental executives for client servicing, achieving targets, and maximum productivity.
  4. To implement and execute all sales objectives and action plans to reach and exceed targets set.
  5. To solicit and serve transient and group business and meetings.
  6. To formulate corporate offer letters and yearly contracts and any other required business correspondence.
  7. To establish parameters, quotes, and negotiate prices with customers for transient and group business.
  8. To ensure that the response to any business request is acted upon within 24 hours.
  9. To promote and produce sales leads for hotels outside of coverage area.
  10. To arrange site inspections of the hotel.
  11. To disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
  12. To maintain close communication with the Events Management Team in the negotiation process of their accounts.
  13. To attend all pre- and post-conference meetings arranged by the Event's Management Department.
  14. To follow up with the Events Management Team after the post-event meeting with thank you calls and send thank you letters together.
  15. To perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established hotel policies to achieve the overall objectives of the position.
  16. To handle incoming calls and ensure messages are taken in detail and forwarded to the person concerned.
  17. To attend departmental and communication meetings as requested by the Department Head.
  18. To attend major events in the hotel and city as requested by the Department Head.
  19. To closely monitor accounts revenue and business production of own corporate portfolio and that of any assigned Sales Executives.
  20. To maximize up-selling opportunities whenever possible.
  21. To review direct competition and conduct regular research.
  22. To establish and maintain files of major accounts and assist the Director of Sales in maintaining the accounts management system.
  23. To ensure that selling strategies are adhered to during negotiations and maximize up-selling opportunities whenever possible.
  24. To maintain an up-to-date account and contact database and details in property management systems.
  25. To ensure comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of properties' unique selling points, features, amenities, services, and policies.
  26. To closely coordinate and communicate with outbound sales offices regarding accounts/markets serviced by Outbound Sales.
  27. To ensure that hotel sales and marketing policies and standard operational procedures are adhered to at all times.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience is an asset.
  • Prior experience working with Opera or a related system.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
