Job Overview

This role involves overseeing kitchen and laundry operations, ensuring seamless functionality of equipment and maintenance of facilities.

  • Duties:
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment to guarantee proper functioning.
  • Determine necessary materials, equipment, and supplies for optimal performance.
  • Transfer equipment and personnel between projects as required.
  • Assist in installing and setting up new kitchen equipment, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Coordinate or inspect, repair, and maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.
  • Operate and maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation systems, including boilers.
  • Perform general repairs such as painting, patching walls, security hardware, hanging shelves, and landscaping.
  • Coordinate renovations and construction of new facilities.
  • Inspect major contract work on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems.
  • Evaluate kitchen equipment regularly to prevent breakdowns.
  • Ensure efficient turnovers and meet guest needs through effective maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to equipment failures, taking action according to hotel policies.
  • Maintain a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Enforce environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete tasks during shifts, handing over unfinished work to colleagues.
  • Regularly inspect and log the condition of equipment and systems.
  • In case of abnormalities or breakdowns, cease operation and inform superiors immediately.
  • Monitor utility consumption and assist in maintaining efficiency.
  • Train and supervise subordinates in operating equipment and emergency systems.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Diploma or degree, knowledge of steam engines, generators, motors, turbines, and/or steam boilers, and proficiency in English.
