Job Overview

As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing on-site construction activities and ensuring that works are executed in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and relevant safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Resident Engineer in supervising daily construction activities on-site.
  2. Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards.
  3. Coordinate with site inspectors to conduct regular inspections and document findings.
  4. Review and comment on contractor submissions, including method statements, shop drawings, and material approvals.
  5. Support progress monitoring, schedule adherence, and quality assurance measures.
  6. Attend site coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes and site reports as required.
  7. Identify and resolve technical and construction issues in collaboration with the Resident Engineer.
  8. Ensure that work is carried out in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
  9. Maintain project documentation, including inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and correspondence logs.
  10. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in site supervision, preferably on port, marine, or infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with construction standards, specifications, and best practices in civil and marine engineering.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Experience working in Oman or the GCC is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.
